The Electronic Payments Specialist II is responsible for ensuring timely processing of electronic payment transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, mobile deposits, checks and other electronic payment methods.
Who YOU are: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the financial services industry.
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments.
Support or backup other department staff as necessary High school diploma or equivalent 2 years minimum experience in a financial institution Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
What YOU’LL do: Process and monitor electronic payment transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, mobile deposits, checks, Zelle, and other electronic payment methods, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to electronic payment transactions, working closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure prompt resolution.
Address member inquiries and provide exceptional customer service regarding payment-related matters.
Process received levy orders, escheat processing, shared branch/ATM adjustments, payroll deductions, and stop payment requests.
Monitor all member communication channels and ensure all member inquiries are promptly responded to.
Collaborate with external payment processors, networks, and other vendors to ensure smooth processing of electronic payments.
Stay updated with regulations, rules, and best practices related to electronic payments, ensuring adherence to compliance standards such as NACHA, CFPB, and card network regulations.
Assist accounting and other departments with regular reconciliation of electronic payment transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Resolve any outages or discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, IT, and member services, to address payment-related inquiries, provide support, and ensure seamless integration of payment systems with other credit union processes.
Support internal and external audits of the department, including document provisioning and research.
Write and maintain department procedures.
