As a Research Administrator I, you will assist research leadership on managing post-award activities.
This includes a diverse set of complexes research projects.
The Department oversees many research awards that will broaden your financial understanding.
In addition, this role may assist with communication between varying groups within Stanford.

Stanford’s Department of Surgery is a leader in all types of research, from basic science, clinical trials, and translational research.
Currently, the Department of Surgery has 51 very active research faculty members with federal, state, or industry-sponsored projects.
Besides research, our department is clinically active, include clinical research and standard healthcare.
We maintain almost 1500 financial accounts, thousands of clinical visits, and a very complex mix between the two.
Duties include: Construction of universal digital financial workbooks using varying tools.
Clear communication with various Professors and Staff.
Researching differing policies and procedures related to research.
Maintaining numerous relationships, both internal and external.
Using automation to complete work more efficiently.
Monitor various reports to ensure within requirements.
Learn, apply, and advise on university and government policies for projects.
May participate as a mentor and provide cross-training as needed.
Participate in and contribute to process improvements.
Lead other staff in group projects Participate in contract closeout process and audit inquiries; submit final reports and certificates.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree and one year of job-related experience, or combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED): Ability to learn and stay updated about university and government policies (FAR, Cost Accounting Standards, Office of Management and Budget circulars, sponsored guidelines, etc.
) to properly administer sponsored projects.
Ability to help with understanding, interpreting, and communicating policies and procedures.
Good oral, written, and communication skills.
Good analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
Good accounting skills; knowledge of accounting principles.
Ability to complete Cardinal Curriculum I and II within first year in role.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work well with low level supervision, but also to seek assistance when needed.
Good time management and organizational skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience web-based tools Knowledge and experience with Stanford's accounting systems, policies, and procedures CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES: Cardinal Curriculum I and II must be completed to remain in this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*: Frequently sit, grasp lightly, use fine manipulation, and perform desk-based computer tasks, lift, carry, push and pull objects weighing up to ten pounds.
Occasionally stand, walk, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, write by hand and sort and file paperwork or parts.
Rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 11-20 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $28.
