Our Calibration, Localization, and Mapping (CLAMS) team is responsible for building the algorithms and tools necessary for keeping Zoox vehicles well calibrated, always knowing where they’re located within the world, and aware of their environment.
Without precise calibration, localization, and mapping our vehicles would be at a disadvantage when it comes to perceiving and reasoning about the surrounding world, and is therefore foundational in enabling results from many other teams across Zoox.
This work is critical for scaling autonomous driving in a safe and reliable way.
We are looking for engineers who are ambitious and excited about helping Zoox deliver on its goals to deliver autonomous mobility.
Zoox is looking for a software engineer to help us build state-of-the-art mapping pipelines that combine data from a wide variety of sensors as well as localization algorithms that make use of these maps in real time.
We're looking for an engineer with an advanced degree and experience building mapping and localization systems that work with real data in uncertain environments.
Qualifications
Fluency in C++
Experience with pose estimation, SLAM, probabilistic filtering, and 3D data
Extensive experience with programming and algorithm design
Experience handling large data sets efficiently
Strong mathematical skills
10+ years of experience in a related field
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with autonomous robots
Experience with realtime sensor fusion (e.
g.
IMU, LiDAR, camera, odometry, radar)
Knowledge of computer vision techniques and machine learning
Strong understanding of ROS
