Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc.
seeks a Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location to be responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, quality assurance of specific product features in a development team.
Expectations and Tasks:
Build Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Models to enhance business processes and automate data extraction.
Implement error handling during ETL jobs to identify dimensions and facts that are not properly populated.
Create advanced functions and stored procedures as SQL scripts for product development and maintenance based on business requirements.
Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code.
Create and maintain documents for data dictionaries, business requirements, functional requirements and ETL mappings.
Demonstrate full responsibility for accepted tasks and therefore demonstrate a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency.
Works closely together with other team members to ensure the team success.
Enhances skills beyond own core functional focus and works on other tasks for the benefit of the team.
Has proficient overall product knowledge and shares domain expertise within team.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
The company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
Work Experience:
Position requires prior experience, internship, or academic coursework to include each of the following:
Create SQL stored procedures and functions;
Data visualizations;
ETL data pipelines;
SSIS ETL;
Data Modelling;
Database design and management;
Java development;
Performance tune and optimize SQL queries; and
Transform and cleanse data.

Telecommuting permitted from within the continental U.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $148,658 - $150,390.
SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity.
SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role.
The targeted combined range for this position is $148,658 - $167,100.
The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc.
as determined through the selection process.
Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
