Reporting to a Technical Director, you will:
Be a subject matter expert (SME) on a team of accomplished software engineers focusing on the core features of different tools for Apex Legends.
Design and implement tools and engine features.
Build bridges with other partners to work towards this vision.
Design and implement user interfaces for tools and pipelines.
Fix bugs and maintain the codebase.
Improve the game development pipeline and add new features to the engine and game editors.
Support internal and external customers by prioritizing and solving issues from feedback.
What we're looking for
10+ years of experience having worked on and shipped large game projects
3+ years of experience working as a Tools Engineer on a game team, or with resource management, in a game engine.
You enjoy being a subject matter expert and the 'go-to' person for internal customers
Excellent C++ skills, and understanding of legacy C code.
Well versed in software engineering principles
Experience writing UIs with APIs such as ImGUI, Qt, or others
Familiarity with an existing game engine and understanding of editor concepts
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations.

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.

For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
