Meta is seeking a talented attorney to work on our privacy legal team to serve as a subject matter expert on a range of issues related to artificial intelligence.
This role includes opportunities to advise Meta’s product, business, and legal teams on emerging requirements around artificial intelligence.
An ideal candidate for the role will have a solid understanding of core privacy principles and a strong grasp of online technologies.
The candidate must be a clear communicator and be able to collaborate across functions, including Meta’s product and business teams.
You will join a collegial team of lawyers working in a fast-paced environment on exciting, cutting-edge products to identify, evaluate and address privacy risk in light of emerging laws, compliance obligations and policies.
Lead Counsel, AI Privacy Responsibilities:
Serve as a company expert on global privacy and AI-related laws and regulations
Intake, assess, and help execute plans for complying with new AI laws
Help respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations related to AI
Provide legal advice and day-to-day support to internal stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications:
J.
D.
degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies (applicable litigation, regulatory, or product counseling will be considered)
Business judgment and client counseling experience
Experience with AI technologies and with global privacy and AI-related laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, internet and technology companies
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on AI-powered products
Experience working proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
Experience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projects
Experience managing complex projects
Experience demonstrating initiative in driving solutions cross-functionally
