What You Will Be Doing: The Litigation/Securities Paralegal works effectively and collaboratively with attorneys and case teams across offices, managing deadlines, filings and the flow of facts and information.
The Litigation/Securities Paralegal is experienced in complex Litigation and each stage of the investigative/enforcement process of US Securities and Exchange Commission including the management of large E-discovery initiatives, assisting with the design and maintenance of case management databases, supervising senior project assistants and project assistants, interacting with clients, preparing for and assisting at legal proceedings, maintaining case management systems and the archiving of case materials.
About the Role: Document Management Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in WH Discovery Solutions Roles and Process Management and Review Methodology, the utilization and application of available document management systems and supporting technology; partners effectively with Litigation Support to implement and utilize eDiscovery platforms and process electronic productions; conducts searches on and utilizes internal and external eDiscovery platforms and adheres to best practices as promulgated by the Firm’s Litigation Support team; establishes and maintains tracking systems for document collections, productions, redactions, and privilege designations.
SEC Investigations / Enforcement Proceedings Demonstrates proficiency in facilitating the processes and procedures associated with each stage of an SEC or other governmental agency investigation and/or enforcement action, including compliance with formal orders and responding to subpoenas and Wells notices.
Fact Management / Factual Research Demonstrates proficiency in assembling documents and information for attorney reference and case preparation; assisting with factual analysis, effectively implementing and utilizing appropriate technology to prepare chronologies, subject matter files, witness files and reference binders; effectively accessing relevant case information via PACER, the media, courts, libraries, trade associations, the internet, state and government offices.
Case Management Systems Adheres to best practices as promulgated by Document Lifecycle Services (DLS) for the intake and management of all case-related materials, both in hard-copy and electronic formats.
At the conclusion of a matter, ensures the swift disposition of case materials, clearance of case/project rooms and the accurate archiving and/or destruction of all relevant materials.
Depositions / Witness Interviews Demonstrates proficiency in drafting and maintaining a deposition/interview schedule, assisting with deposition/interview preparation including assembling documents and/or exhibits, arranging for court reporter/videographer and appropriate technology, assisting at depositions/interviews by tracking exhibits/documents and note-taking, assisting with post-deposition/interview activities including receipt and processing of electronic and hard copy transcripts or interview memoranda, using appropriate technology, errata sheet distribution, tracking and follow-up with court reporter, ensuring signing and appropriate distribution and safekeeping of the original and electronic transcripts.
Motion Practice / Legal Filings Demonstrates proficiency in cite-checking and blue booking; preparing and filing briefs, Wells submissions and memoranda, including assembling exhibits and appendices; preparing tables of authorities and tables of contents and/or appropriate indices; confirming factual references; coordinating paper and/or E-filings with the court, SEC or other administrative / governmental Preparation for and Attendance at Trials, Hearings and Judicial Proceedings Demonstrates proficiency in assisting with proceedings in state and federal courts, before the International Trade Commission, alternative dispute resolution, the US Securities and Exchange Commission and other government entities, including assembling exhibits, deposition designations, reference files, witness lists/files, and key documents; coordinating trial set-up and logistics; set-up of remote offices; assisting attorneys in the courtroom or at hearings by taking notes, managing exhibits and demonstratives, including effectively use of trial presentation technology and other courtroom technology and marking documents referred to by counsel; assisting attorneys with witness preparation; serving as liaison between the attorneys and courtroom staff; ensuring delivery of proceedings transcripts in both draft and final formats.

Supervise Staff, Project Assistants and Temporary Staff Provides guidance and supervision to junior members of the case team as well as temporary staff.
Timekeeping Meets the Firm’s billable hours expectations and adheres to best practices for daily time entry for client work and eTime for attendance and time off requests.
Service Excellence Contributes to the Firm's Service Excellence initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally.
Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.
Assumes Additional Responsibilities as Assigned.
Required Skills What You Will Bring: Knowledgeable of applicable court systems, judicial processes, investigatory / enforcement procedures of the US Securities and Exchange Commission and other governmental entities, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
