The District Attorney's Office is seeking a dedicated professional to join the management team as the Office Services Manager.

The Position: The Office Services Manager plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the operations of the legal office support services and electronic records systems of the District Attorney's Office and assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to these functions.
The manager selects, trains and supervises subordinate support staff and oversees applications and systems and provides expert direction in the development and enhancement of electronic systems.

The ideal candidate will have two years of supervisory or lead experience in a public safety or legal office environment and have knowledge of the principles and practices of the District Attorney’s Office and its administration and organization.
Examples Of Duties Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following; Planning, directing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of clerical and electronic support services and activities for the office.
Participating in developing, coordinating and implementing the goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities related to the office.
Working closely with the management team to determine areas which would benefit from new technology and coordinate work within the department to implement appropriate systems; provide high level management of projects for the department.
Analyzing and determining feasibility of new technology, developing new applications and modifying existing applications.
Preparing cost estimates and justifications for budget recommendations; monitor and control expenditures to ensure the accomplishment of objectives within approved budget.
Review and evaluate the workflow and the work of employees in each branch to determine the quantity and quality of work.
Evaluate performance of subordinate employees including reviewing performance evaluations and consulting with the Human Resources Department when necessary.
Conduct training sessions in legal procedures and electronic system support.
Implement procedural changes based on new legislation and disseminate the information to support staff.
Provide assistance, direction and advice to managerial or non-attorney personnel on procedural and technical matters.
Evaluate and make recommendations on staffing requirements.
Prepare periodic reports and stats.
Evaluate or develop methods and procedures and recommend appropriate actions to improve departmental efficiency.
Select, supervise, train and evaluate supervisory and clerical personnel.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications County Status: Only current County of San Mateo or County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified, regular, probationary, Confidential and Management extra-help/limited term, and SEIU or AFSCME represented extra help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date may apply.
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.

Direct and participate in the analysis of a wide variety of moderate to complex administrative/operational problems and make effective operational and/or procedural recommendations.
Interpret departmental policies, guidelines and procedures; develop recommendations for improvements, as necessary.
Supervise, evaluate and train assigned personnel.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
