Job Title: Sr.
Manager, HR Business Partner - West Location: Within 50 minutes of Swissport Hub (SFO, ANC, HNL, KOA, LAX, OAK, OGG, ONT, RNO, SAN, SEA, SJC) Reporting to: Director, Field Human Resources Job Summary The Regional Manager, HR Business Partner will be responsible for leading all HR functions in alignment with business objectives within designated region.
This role will assist in promoting positive relations between the associates and management at Swissport that aligns with the company’s philosophy, overall strategy, federal, state and local law.
This role will promote, implement and lead all HR initiatives for consistency and continuous process improvements by coaching, driving business results and ensuring compliance.
This role will mitigate risks for Swissport collectively and independently in designated region.
This role will work independently and collectively under the direction of the Director, Field Human Resources by role modeling and demonstrating the company’s core values of people, professionalism and partnership as a way we conduct business and ourselves.
Supervisory Responsibilities The Regional Manager, HR Business Partner will have direct reporting relationship and supervisory responsibilities of Manager, HR Business Partners, Generalist, HR Business Partners and HR Specialists within the designated region.
Job Responsibilities Provide day-to-day support and counsel to employees, supervisors, and managers regarding HR best practices, policy interpretation, policies, HR compliance and appropriate workplace Serve as the liaison within assigned region between corporate HR and the stations, being the first point of contact for questions from station management regarding legal and/or policies and Analyze trends and metrics for assigned region HR teams to develop solutions in efforts to drive Conducts reoccurring meetings with respective and designated region HR Maintain records and compile/ disseminate statistical reports concerning employment-related data such as hires, terminations, performance reviews, unemployment claims and turnover and make recommendations for improved performance on all Drive consistency with and compliance to existing and new HR polices or initiatives in the assigned Support performance processes including annual reviews, 1:1 meeting(s) with direct reports, introductory reviews, and performance management for exempt and non-exempt Evaluate the culture and work environment at stations and make recommendations to station leadership for improvement.
Ensure consistent application of all Swissport policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local Assist in leading issues raised through assigned employment relations, Open Door or Speak Up cases.
Investigate accordingly, document findings, respond and take corrective action as appropriate.
May access and assign issues appropriately and accordingly.
Evaluate recommendations to separate employees from employment (if assigned) at Swissport while ensuring consistent application of corrective action and progressive discipline.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local May act as the decision-maker for separation within assigned region or assigned cases.
Ensure and audit compliance of state employment law, federal employment law and local regulations of assigned stations.
Assist in preparing responses to HR regulated governmental agencies such as, EEOC and Human Rights Commission and Keeps abreast and maintains in-depth knowledge of new employment law and HR trends Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities as applicable.
May assist in coordinating or will coordinate and conduct other training that aligns with policies and practices as required.
Responsible for performing other related duties, assigned tasks or strategic tactical Qualifications and Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in related field/discipline or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years of experience in human resources, leading teams, leading multi-unit/ regional teams or a combination of all Previous experience of supervising and evaluating the work of others Working knowledge of employee relations Working knowledge of all areas of human resources Basic financial acumen including P&L knowledge; 1 year of experience managing a P&L preferred Basic knowledge of SharePoint and other Microsoft Office applications Able to analyze long-term implications of business decisions Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate position with clarity at all levels Ability to obtain commitment from internal and external stakeholders High energy and high motivation, with tolerance for stressful situations Strong work ethic with a can-do, self-starting attitude Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills High proficiency in spoken and written English This position requires and one must have the willingness to travel up to 75%, sometimes with little notice SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR professional certification, or the ability to obtain professional certification in the first two years in the Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Swissport as an equal opportunity employer bases its hiring decisions on the business need and the best qualified candidates available and does not discriminate in its employment decisions on the basis of any protected category.
