) *EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* _1.
Administers, directs, and plans the operations of the business services department which includes facilities finance management; planning, controlling and organizing the financial activities of Woodside elementary.

Direct and coordinate the preparation of the annual budget for approval and adoption by the Board of Education; compile, analyze, and consolidate budget information; ensure proper budgetary controls and transfer of funds to accomplish approved financial objectives; administer and direct the program of accounting for District funds.
_ _3.
Develop and maintain short and long-term financial planning goals; prepare written forecasts of income and expenditures; actively pursue additional resources of funds for the District.
Proposes fiscal measures to maximize resources.
_ _4.
Prepares and monitors district financial reporting, assuring financial accountability and compliance.
_ _5.
Estimates and monitors the District’s income, expenses, and liabilities.
_ _6.
Provide technical advice and assistance regarding fiscal services to site and district administrators.
_ _7.
Presents and interprets district budgets to the Governing Board and staff.
_ _8.
Administers the District’s financial program within Federal, State, and County legal requirements and budget limitations; assures timely and accurate financial reporting; ensures proper internal controls, audit trails, and records maintenance; provides accurate and timely information required for areas that need financial and statistical data.

Coordinates the investment of District funds through the County.
_ _10.
Prepares budget forms for District, County, and State review.
_ _11.
Reconciles fund balances; prepares cash; audits balances; and prepares cash deposits for District funds.
_ _12.
Develops, monitors, and implements financial controls, including, but not limited to, position control, expenditure control, and budgetary controls.
_ _13.
Establishes attendance reporting guidelines; audits attendance and enrollment reports and reconciles errors; prepares the District’s periodic attendance and apportionment reports.
_ _14.
Works with independent auditors and State auditors to ensure a high standard of District business practices.
_ _15.
Monitors the leasing of District facilities by other organizations and agencies.
_ _16.
Administers asset management programs and consults on capital improvements, maintenance, development, and use of facilities.

Responsible for supervising Bond funds and associated capital improvements and construction.
_ _18.
Develop strategies and proposals for collective bargaining.
_ _19.
Shall act as a member of the District negotiating team representing the District's Board of Trustees in collective bargaining negotiations.

Develop and recommend policies and regulations governing the District's administrative operations.
_ _21.
Recommends updates to Board Policies and Administrative Regulations related to business and classified personnel services.

Prepares and presents Board reports and agenda items related to business services and classified personnel.

Serves as general manager for the District office facility.
_ _24.
Serves as the district-appointed representative to various committees and groups within and outside the District.

Attends meetings of the Governing Board to respond to inquiries on financial reports, budget data, or other matters relating to all the departments under the Superintendent.

Attends public, staff, and other meetings as assigned; represents the District at City, County, State, and other public and private sector meetings and forums, as necessary; presents reports regarding the financial and business administration of the District.

Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates the work of assigned staff.

Participates in the Superintendent’s cabinet as needed.

The Chief Business Officer shall serve as Fiscal Advisor to the Superintendent and report directly to the Superintendent.
