Team: Program Management Location: San Mateo, CA, US and Durham, NC, US Work Type: Full Time Job Description Title: Specialist/Manager, Program Management Department: Program Management Reports To: TBD SUMMARY: The Project Specialist/Manager provides program management support to the development teams.
In collaborating with the Program leader, the Program Team, and key internal partners, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the team including management of timelines, team communication and budget/expense tracking.
The ideal candidate for this position will combine strong project management and pharmaceutical development experience with a passion for managing the operational plan and deliverables of the project so that they are achieved on or ahead of schedule, on budget, and support the target product profile, business deliverables, and/or key decisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with cross-functional project teams to facilitate project planning, implementation, and communication.
Generates detailed timeline and aligns across functional lines With the team, manages an integrated project budget in partnership with finance Works with functional areas to support expense tracking Works in close partnership with project lead and project team to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives within the portfolio Utilizes project management skills to drive projects to key decision points and milestones.
Proactive management of the critical path and alignment of operational execution Facilitate project and core team meetings, ensuring alignment between project teams, functional areas, key stakeholders, and leadership, including the preparation of meeting agendas, minutes and follows up on action items Ability to work across time zones and cultures QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) with 1-5 years related experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, or advance (MS, PhD etc) degree with commensurate experience.
Prior project management skills, minimum 1-3 years, and drug development knowledge sufficient to allow her/him to independently drive activities PMP certified desirable, but not required Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Commitment to excellence and high standards Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage multiple priorities and workflow Highly motivated, goal and detailed-oriented, diligent and strategic Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees Able to integrate scientific knowledge into a business model Ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of individuals at all organizational levels Proven track record of good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities COMPETENCIES: Confidentiality & Compliance—Strictly adhere to company confidentiality requirement and insider’s trading compliance; must follow legal compliance as related to antibribery and corruption (ABAC) and third-party oversight.
