About the Organization and Position
Well known Non-Profit is hiring a Medical Director / Psychiatrist to oversee clinical programming for their Medi-cal managed outpatient programs.
This well known and well established agency provides psychiatry, medication management, outpatient substance use treatment, case management, supportive housing, LGBTQ youth and youth care.
Our services cross age ranges from children to older adults.
The Medical Director provides clinical leadership of regional community-based medical clinics and provides clinical guidance to clinic and program staff.
Services are intended to provide stabilization and increased independence for clients with serious mental illness.
This position includes approx.
20 hrs.
per week of direct clinical care.

Responsibilities
Providing medical consultation and education to other staff psychiatrists and other providers in the clinical team.
Conducting quality and peer quality reviews, defining and maintaining quality measures and regulatory compliance in collaboration with other compliance and quality staff.
Define, maintain and implement policies and procedures about clinical policies and workflows that involve psychiatric care
Collaborate with other health care providers, community agencies, and organizations to coordinate care and referrals for patients with complex needs
Advising the CEO, Chief Clinical Officer and Executive Directors regarding the development and review of the Clinic's programs, positions, and budgets that impact clinical services.
Participate with the CEO, Chief Clinical Officer and the Executive Directors in meetings with private and public payors, in particular with Medical Directors or equivalent clinical leadership in payor organizations.
Conduct two annual agency-wide trainings on medications and other topics as appropriate in collaboration with the Executive Director or training staff
Lead and define practice standards around reoccurring practice issues such as use of benzodiazepines, ADHD diagnosis and treatment, medication assisted treatment, harm reduction, and clinically inappropriate polypharmacy.
Experience
A medical degree from an accredited medical school
A board certification in psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or equivalent
A valid license to practice medicine in the state of California
Current DEA and CPR certification
