JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Store Manager position is responsible for proficiency in areas of the Outlet store and Aftermarket operations and serves as the second in charge of operations to the Aftermarket Manager.
Duties include providing leadership and direction to the store and operation team, ensuring a positive customer shopping experience and performing operational activities.
This position is also responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment for all team members, customers, and vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for delivering the highest levels of customer service possible in all areas of the store and support the Store Manager in daily operations.
Conducts coaching and training of assigned staff in an appropriate manner at the direction of corporate staff and Store Manager.
Follow through on development plans approved by Store Manager.
Works with Store Manager to ensure scheduling of assigned staff optimizes business opportunities.
Participates and leads assigned committees, task forces and events as required.
Occasionally assist with management staffing needs at other Goodwill locations based on the needs of the business.
Maintain the merchandise presentation standards of assigned area through appropriate allocation of available resources to ensure standards are met
May assist in hiring activities including interviewing, new-hire orientation and coaching.
Ensures assets are protected and that steps are taken to maximize value potential of product.
Ensures merchandise in assigned areas is presented according to written guidelines
Handle all money and financial transactions according to published company guidelines
Manage the opening and closing the store while following all requirements of these activities
Ensure the proper security of the building, company assets and the safety of customers and employees
Provide a neat, clean work environment at all times and assist in visual presentation tasks as required
Must address customer needs, handle and address customer complaints with focus on conflict resolution and prevention of problem escalation.
In a courteous and professional manner at all times
Performs formal and informal corrective action activities as directed
Work with corporate Loss Prevention and Safety to ensure company assets are protected at all times.
Will participate in coaching and training activities that support this requirement
Fulfill other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous retail leadership experience is required
High school diploma or the equivalent is required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict
Must be able to read and write English proficiently, or have enrolled in and are on track to successfully complete an approved ESL program
Must possess proficient use of basic math skills and/or accounting
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage motivate and communicate positively with store associates at all levels
Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than one’s own, able to work effectively with all
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs
