SLAC Job Postings The Technical Planning Department (TPD) within the Mechanical Engineering and Technical Support Division has an employment opportunity available for a student currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or recently graduated.
TPD provides a variety of services to support the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of accelerator facilities and associated scientific and support equipment and experiments at SLAC.
Example projects and responsibilities include (but are not limited) to the following: Reorganize the production warehouse for better efficiency.
Using Smartsheet, inventory and photo document old components.
Coordinate with TPD Planning team and Engineering to disposition parts: move, store, salvage.
Conduct physical inventory of hardware and components.
Update inventory and supplier data in Visual Manufacturing ERP software.
Review completed work order travelers, scan, and electronically file.
Other duties may also be assigned.

Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an educational program or recently graduated and have US work authorization.
To be successful in this position: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or recently graduated.
Interest in production control, manufacturing, or related field Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance is essential.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work.
Strong verbal and written communication Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
