What to Expect
As a Construction Operations Manager, you will lead high-performing teams on company critical projects working cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders, field personnel, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering while ensuring your teams deliver projects under schedule and under budget.
What You’ll Do
Manage a team delivering large, self-performed construction projects
Ensure on-time, or ahead-of-time delivery of construction projects, enabling your teams to solve problems and prioritize execution
Promote a safe and quality-driven culture, both project and company-wide
Coach and mentor counterparts and subordinates on excellence in the construction industry
Use efficient and aesthetic communication methods to escalate roadblocks or communicate successes as necessary
Employ a can-do attitude, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aligned to the project’s goals
Provide the best product for your respective project’s customer or end users, keeping projects moving forward and fixing concerns as they arise
Foster an innovative environment amongst your team and those within the EPC group to help Tesla succeed in accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy
Provide strategic input into the construction organization, setting your teams future up for growth and success
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields, or the equivalent in experience
Evidence of exceptional ability
15+ years of expertise in the mechanical, electrical, or civil/structural/architectural disciplines, preferably as a sub-contractor
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills are a must
In-depth knowledge of scheduling, project planning, and project financials
In-depth knowledge of field installation means and methods respective to your trade
Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and field execution
Willingness to get your hands dirty as needed to complete objectives and lead your teams through challenging projects
Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight deadlines and aggressive goals
Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and a willingness to continuously learn
Capacity to work long hours on demanding projects in high-stress environments
