*Accounts Receivable Specialist*

The company was founded in 1868 and is headquartered in Burlingame, California.
The Accounts Receivable Specialists’ key responsibilities include ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist position is a non-exempt, full-time, and fully benefited position, and reports to the Credit Manager.
*Responsibilities*
Credit & Collections
* Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.
* Investigate historical data for each debt or invoice.
* Contact clients to collect their overdue invoices.
* Take actions to encourage timely debt payments.
* Process payments and refunds.
* Resolve billing and customer credit issues.
* Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
* Update account status records and collection efforts and report on collection activity and accounts receivable status.
Accounts Receivable
* Process cash application (daily) and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures: Lockbox, wires, ACH, credit cards, checks
* Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.
* Prepare invoices and bank deposits.
* Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
* Customer Service: respond to calls and emails from customers regarding their accounts (take credit card payments, send copies of invoices or other reports, explanation of account activity etc.
).
* Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
* Generate reports detailing accounts receivable status.
* Special projects as assigned by manager.
*Education and Skills*
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related finance field preferred; An Associates degree required.
* 3+ years of proven experience in accounts receivable required.
* Knowledge of an ERP system Business Central is a plus.
* Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
* Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
* Data entry skills along with an understanding for numbers.
* Proficiency MS Office, especially Excel.
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the office
