We are seeking a Head of global GL Accounting to lead the global General Ledger team.
As the Head of Global GL Accounting you will hold a pivotal leadership role in the Accounting team.
You will be responsible for leading financial accounting and global general ledger operations as well as providing thought leadership for the technical accounting team.
Key Responsibilities: General Ledger: Lead the General Ledger team in the day-to-day accounting operations, including oversight of subledger activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payrolls.
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, accruals, allocations, intercompany entries, and consolidations, with the objective of ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Review and analyze accounting transactions and balances, across the whole of the accounting department, making necessary adjustments as required.
Contribute to the preparation and review of financial statements disclosures Help lead and manage success completion of external audit activities Lead globalization efforts that aim to standardize general ledger processes and increase efficiencies across the globally distributed team.
Additional Responsibilities: Contribute to the development,maintenance, and evolution of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP while maximizing efficiencies and reducing barriers to scale.
Support financial analysis and forecasting activities, working closely with other departments, including FP&A to provide insights into business performance.
Provide strong leadership to the General Ledger, fostering professional development and growth.
Help cultivate a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the accounting team.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance and/or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting roles, with significant leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and technical accounting standards.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
Adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
