* Demonstrated experience with payroll, principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, worker’s compensation, training, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, and leave management.

* Ability to work with management in implementation of new policies and changes.
* Proven track-record of credibility, confidentiality, and integrity.
* Highly organized and detail oriented to provide timely and accurate work.
* A high level of comfort working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
).
DOT Compliance experience preferred.
* Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.
The position involves, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
*Essential Responsibilities*
* Hands on management of Human Resource and Payroll processes.
* Effectively communicate with employees, supervisors, and the management team to fulfill HR related requests.
* Advise management of employee relations issues.
* Proactive involvement in workers’ compensation claims and leave processing and tracking.
* Manage recruitment efforts, new hire onboarding process and off boarding.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable employment related laws and regulations.
* Ensure mandatory reporting requirements, internal audits and external audits are completed on a timely basis.
* Manage compensation and benefits programs.
* Work with Safety to develop and implement employee training, identify new and applicable training, and other employment-related legal compliance requirements.
* Stay abreast of local, state, and federal employment laws.
* Manage E-Verify and drug screening program.
* Hands on processing of semi-monthly payroll.
* Hands on coordination of reporting and funding for company’s 401k plan.
* Manage all payroll reports, payroll compliance, and year-end activities.
* Maintain payroll records in accordance with Payroll Record Retention policy.
* Maintain up-to-date paid time off accruals for employees.
* Coordinate special events and training.
* Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
* Assist with various audits including workers comp, payroll and other company related projects
*Minimum Qualifications*
Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, which would typically be acquired through:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
* Three years of payroll and HR experience.
* An understanding Payroll and HR compliance, payroll accruals, and engaged strategies for employee relations and staff engagement.
* An understanding of state, federal and local employment laws.
* Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
* Two years’ experience with ADP Work Force Now.
* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
* Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
