Joyous is adding a Senior Accounting Manager to our team! This will be our first finance hire overall and will be an integral part of the development of the Finance department.
You will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the financial operations of the company.
You will leverage your technical and operational expertise to optimize various aspects of financial reporting, accounting, and compliance.
Your entrepreneurial spirit will drive you to establish our financial foundation and enable us to scale effectively as we grow.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain general ledger accounts
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
Process accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
Assist with payroll processing and tax preparation, as well as all other preparation and filing of all required tax returns
Generate and analyze financial reports to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement
Establish and manage the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings including timely reporting of results.
Perform monthly financial statement review and analysis on the company's operating results.
Perform additional ad hoc analysis and duties, as necessary.
Develop, update and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
Manage the preparation and execution for internal and external audits.
Identify and implement continuous improvements to process, controls, and systems in support of the organization; collaborate with other stakeholders in the company to partner and execute on projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Deep knowledge and hands on experience with Quickbooks Online
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and modeling
Deadline focused with a strong ability to multitask and work independently
Acute attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Commitment to high standards, customer service, integrity, and ethics.
In addition to the base salary range listed below, you can expect additional compensation for this role in the form of an annual bonus as well as company issued stock options.
SF Bay Area Range
$130,000—$150,000 USD
