We have an opening for an Accounting Assistant to work in a growing tax and accounting firm located in San Mateo, California.
The Accounting Assistant is primarily responsible for preparing individual, partnership, S corporate, C corporate, foreign tax returns, assisting in client management and practice development activities, and our clients' bookkeeping work with limited oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare tax returns for individual, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clients.
Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters.
Required Skills and Experience:
BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
Two plus years experience in accounting or relevant experience and extensive knowledge of GAAP.
Strong tax and accounting skills with proficiency in tax return preparation, and experience in the preparation of financial statements.
Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Quickbooks, and Lacerte.
Bilingual in spoken and written Chinese
Ability to work additional hours as needed during tax season.
