The Position: The College seeks a full-time Instructional Technologist.
The ideal candidate will share the College's commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.
The Instructional Technologist provides educational technology support for face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses and is a college-wide position, housed in the Academic Support and Learning Technologies Division.
This position reports directly to the Dean of Academic Support and Learning Technologies.

Assist faculty with course design, course creation, course development, and learning app integration with a primary focus on technology, in the form of virtual or in-person one-on-one or small group meetings Support the learning management system, Canvas Work with designated staff, faculty and administrators to develop, modify, or implement training programs on web-based course development, technology-mediated instruction, and concepts of online course delivery to be delivered via a face-to-face setting (group or individual consultation), video, within the course management system, or online Create partnerships and provide leadership and support for faculty and staff in implementing effective pedagogy and use of technology to support teaching and learning Maintain currency in knowledge and trends related to teaching and learning and application of technology to enhance teaching and learning of diverse populations Develop and maintain the Distance Education program web presence Co-chair the Distance Education and Educational Technology Committee Assist in the incorporation of multimedia instructional course content materials, including images, video, audio, and digital library materials using sound instructional design and pedagogical principles Assist with assessment efforts, grant and research projects, including conducting faculty and student surveys and data analysis Collaborate with departmental/area staff and participate in required meetings Assist faculty with understanding and meeting accessibility compliance requirements for online courses and digital learning content Work with external partners, corporations, community, and business representatives Keep current and make recommendations to the dean on educational best practices, instructional resources, and instructional technologies to support teaching and learning Will assist with professional development initiatives as needed Participate on department, College, and District committees as appropriate Tri-Chair the Caada Technology Committee and serve in other committee roles as assigned and needed Coordinate with counterparts at the District and sister colleges to support district-wide continuity in the support of online and hybrid instructional modalities Must be flexible and be available to support evening and weekend instructors Coordinate and work closely with the Colleges Professional Development Planning Committee to provide relevant professional development and training opportunities as part of the colleges flexible calendar program Create documentation on internal procedures and prepare reports as needed Perform other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: A combination of education and experience equivalent to possession of a Bachelors degree in an education-related discipline with an emphasis in instructional design, instructional technology, or significant experience in online program development and work in an asynchronous learning network environment A minimum of two (2) years experience working in instructional technology and distance education or a related field including familiarity with the Canvas learning management system and content development applications Demonstrated experience assisting faculty with distance education courses Prior experience coordinating instructional design projects for an institution of higher education Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff Physical Requirements: Equivalence to Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Advanced skills and extensive knowledge in the use of Canvas Knowledge of effective pedagogical practice and the Online Education Initiative (OEI) Knowledge of accreditation standards and Title 5 regulations related to distance education Experience providing technical training in individual and group sessions Ability to work with and train in both PC and Macintosh Excellent skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Mac applications Skill in using web and media-based technologies for education Excellent skills in the use of digital media programs Experience with Online Educational Resources Knowledge of Fair Use Copyright policies Working knowledge of social media use in education Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
