Job Summary This role will be joining a brand new team dedicated to expanding Equinix compute offerings.
This role will also work with product teams, analysts and other engineers to design systems and application software, and mentor junior members of the team.
This position is part of the Edge Infrastructure Services organization, whose mission is to bring cloudlike access to Equinix’s platform.
Responsibilities Architect, implement, and maintain a solution for a high-performance networking and compute platform Closely collaborate with Product Management and internal stakeholders to ensure good product-market fit and direction Foster an efficient build-it and run-it culture, blurring the lines between operations and development, reducing time to fix issues Engage with global Equinix community both internally and externally Facilitate cross-stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment on compute platform requirements and design trade-offs, while considering performance, scalability, and reliability factors Bring passion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the team Mentor though pair programming, review, and discussion Qualifications Recent and proficient experience with Golang (Go) Strong experience in building and operating highly reliable distributed systems Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, CSI, and CNI Proficiency in Linux concepts such as PCI devices, kernel capabilities, and qemu virtualization Proficient in using continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as ArgoCD and GitHub Actions Solid understanding of Network Function Virtualization (NFV), networking protocols, DPDK and/or VPP Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve distributed system issues Model great engineering by writing and reviewing code and socializing the team’s work Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings, recommendations, and technical details to various stakeholders Have worked in a globally distributed team Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends Equinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $143,000 to $235,000 per year • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $137,000 to $225,000 per year • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $124,000 to $204,000 per year Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.
Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations.
