Role Summary: In this position, you will be responsible for the development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of our machine-learned model for Tracking and Track Classification.
As an early member of our in-house ML tracking effort, you will be responsible for helping to set the technical direction including how we formulate the problem, the architectures used, and how we integrate it in the broader autonomy stack.
You’ll interface closely with the Detection, Prediction and Planning teams as you do so.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in machine learning for tracking and track classification for autonomous vehicles or related technology and will have a proven track record of being able to deliver to production.
Responsibilities: Build the tracking and track classification system that supports Rivian’s autonomy features now and in the future.
Design models from the ground up with an eye on run-time performance and prediction quality.
Optimize tracking for accuracy and reliability in complex scenarios.
Work across teams to define and lead ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) feature sets.
Collaborate with Validation and Systems to define and monitor key metrics leading prediction design.
Qualifications: 5+ years of robotics, AV (Autonomous Vehicle), or other real-time, safety-critical experience BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or other relevant Engineering disciplines.
Recent, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art modeling for tracking and track classification including Transformers Ability to build solutions from first principles Strong software engineering experience in Python and/or C++ Experience building ML pipelines and managing data quality Effective communication and collaborative Pay Disclosure: Salary Range for California Based Applicants: [$205,000.
