Job Description Reporting to the Sr Director, Head of Workplace, the Workplace Specialist, Lab Planning will help to develop innovative and effective lab workplace solutions that align with our organizational goals and coordinate cross functionally with Master Planning, Real Estate and Workplace Design on projects and initiatives.
Based in Gilead’s headquarters in Foster City, California, the Workplace Specialist, Lab Planning will help to coordinate projects and support project initiatives cross functionally, develop effective lab workplace solutions, and analyze data to provide clear, effective recommendations.
Responsibilities: Work directly with internal business partners, scientists, researchers, and related end-users to develop laboratory planning strategies at all levels of detail including tenant improvements to phased move planning.
Experienced skill set to lead/guide discussions for laboratory space development in conjunction with equipment and other technical attributes such as EH&S, MEP utility modifications and planning.
Offers and supports creative laboratory planning, technical design and detailing decisions that are in line with project goals and understands their impact on cost, construction, sustainability and other factors Ability to guide end users to develop process flows, planning process and critical adjacencies of research and laboratory rooms for optimum efficiency and flexibility Lead and oversee laboratory move management project team(s), including but not exclusive to relocations, acquisitions for a variety of laboratory environments including cGMP Labs, Pilot Scale Up Facilities, Vivaria, Biologics, Biology, and Chemistry Labs.
Documentation of Project Deliverables (e.
g.
meeting minutes and decision logs, equipment spreadsheets, floor plans and site plans, planning reports, etc.
) for project planning deliverables.
Interfacing with GSI’s CAFM systems (importing and exporting data), completing analyses and generating reports.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and Five Years’ Experience OR Masters' Degree and Three Years’ Experience Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's in Architecture, Engineering, or Science Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, open, collaborative environment and be able to prioritize tasks across multiple projects in different phases of completion Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Organized, precise and analytical, while able to think outside the box and connect the dots Self-starter, with the ability to organize and prioritize Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Experience with life sciences laboratory (biology, chemistry, vivaria, manufacturing), warehouse projects desirable.
Experience with advanced technology industry projects such as Research & Development, Process Development, biologics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical preferred.
Understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Process Systems Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, v-look up and chart/data presentation), MS Power Point and Bluebeam Working knowledge with CAFM system(s) including space management and move management features, ie: Centerstone, Archibus Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
Minimum 4x a week on-site in Foster City The salary range for this position is: $115,260.

Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
