Senior Staff Software Engineer, SDET
Job Summary
PacBio is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our automation team.
You will be responsible for developing automation framework, tools, and automation for verifying, observing, and delivering DNA sequencer product software.
You will be part of the complete software development process.
You will report to the Associate Director, Software Engineering and you’ll work closely with the software development teams as well as across departments to coordinate and support integral verification and validation.
Skills & Experience Needed:
Experience and knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle.
Exposure to BDD.
Good understanding and experience of testing methodology.
Extensive experience in automation.
Experience building automation framework.
Experience with tool development.
Object-oriented design and coding skills.
Fluent in Python.
Fluent with Linux.
Fluent with Windows.
Good communication skills.
Passion.
Teamwork.
Fast learner.
Bonus Skills and Experience:
Background in bioinformatic is a bonus.
Experience or understanding of C++/C#/.
Net is a bonus.
Experience of embedded systems or life science instrumentation is a bonus.
Experience of test automation for robotics, device control and simulation of hardware devices is a bonus.
Your Role Includes:
Design and develop automation framework and tools to support instrument control and analytical software evaluation and verification.
Design and develop any automation needed for multiple DNA sequencer platforms as part of development and release cycles.
Improve automation, increase automation coverage, and enhance performance testing.
Collaborate with other software teams to create integrated automation infrastructures and platforms.
Key Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 9-12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 7-10 years with a Master’s degree; or 6-9 years with a PhD.
Deep understanding of automation strategy and frameworks.
Automation coding skill.
Experience with the entire test cycle – from test design and authoring to execution, debugging and log analysis, as well as reporting.
Computer Science or related discipline BS/MS/PhD or equivalent experience.
8+ years of automation working experience.
You may be required from time to time to visit and work at PacBio locations and for such times as the Company considers necessary for the proper performance of your duties.
