This position is 100% remote.
Apporto provides virtual desktops in the cloud to enable remote labs and remote workers to securely work with their environment easily from a remote system.
This position will help manage all of our linux systems that support our virtual desktop streaming environments.
Our next generation platform is built on kubernetes.
An ideal candidate can maintain and troubleshoot linux applications deployed inside containerized environments like kubernetes.
We are a small startup growing fast.
So, an ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to switch tasks quickly if needed.
As we mature, roles will become more well defined, but at this stage, the candidate will be exposed to a wide range of technologies.
An ideal candidate will be one that is excited to learn and work with new and emerging technology.
We are looking to automate many of our deployment tasks, an ideal candidate will be comfortable writing scripts and programs to provide automation for normal repetitive tasks.
Configuration as code will be our primary choice for maintaining our environment (eg.
using terraform/terragrunt, saltstack, ansible).
Some custom scripts will be needed as well.
Requirements
Required Technologies (or Similar Technologies):
* 3 Years Configuration Management as code: (terraform, saltstack, ansible, etc)
* 3 Years Containerization: (docker, kubernetes)
* 4 Years Application Administrator: (postgres / mysql, tomcat, nginx/haproxy, etc)
* 3 Years Scripting: (python, bash, perl, etc)
* 3 Years Cloud Vendors
* 5 Years Linux Desktop administration experience
Preferred Technologies/Skills:
* CI/CD experience (gitops w/ ArgoCD)
* Minio / S3 administration
* Elasticsearch management
* Opentelemetry / Jaeger tracing
* WAF monitoring and administration
Bonus Qualifications:
* Mac Desktop administrative experience
* GNS3, EVE-NG or similar network simulators
* Security training
* Swagger or OpenAPI experience
