Telemetry Software Engineer, Tesla Bot

What to Expect Tesla’s Autonomy Telemetry team is charged with collecting and processing all the data that fuels the development of Autopilot and Tesla Bot.
Every car and robot includes a sophisticated sensor suite and internet connectivity.
This allows us to gather data from our fleet of millions of vehicles around the world to feed the training of our Neural Networks, providing Tesla with a significant competitive advantage in the race to full autonomy.
We also build custom data collection rigs using VR/AR technology to augment the data set we build from our fleet.
The Telemetry team is responsible for the full lifecycle of this data: from specifying interesting events for data collection, to efficiently recording as much relevant data as possible on our embedded autopilot computer, to processing the data in the cloud.
What You’ll Do Influence architectural decisions with a focus on security, scalability, reliability, and high performance Choose technologies that will allow us to scale with our growing fleet of vehicles and robots while efficiently utilizing cloud infrastructure and managing costs Integrate new sensors and other hardware components to build custom data collection rigs Setup and maintain monitoring, metrics & reporting systems for fine-grained observability and actionable alerting, from car to cloud What You’ll Bring Practical experience using application layer languages like Python and C++ Experience with Linux: networking, wireless (WiFi and Bluetooth), filesystems and storage Familiarity with 3D graphics and virtual reality systems
