About the Program: Wing is hosting a 12 week paid internship during the summer of 2024.
It will be an in-person, hybrid internship based in Palo Alto, CA with start dates either in May or June.
Eligible candidates must be a current student enrolled in a degree program and intend to return to the program after the completion of the summer internship.
About the Opportunity: Wing is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer Intern to join our Flight Automation Embedded Software team based in Palo Alto, CA.
The Embedded Software team develops software that turns a collection of computers, sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers into a cohesive system that enables our fleet of vehicles to operate autonomously at scale.
In this role, you will develop software for the system of applications that form the platform of the vehicle software.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of electrical, mechanical computer vision, backend services, and GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) Engineers.
What You'll Need: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field, graduating between December 2024 and August 2025 Strong examples of hands-on engineering experience from prior work experience, university programs, internships, or student organizations Experience with C++, Python Experience with writing software for embedded devices Ability to independently work with cross-functional teams to drive features to completion.
Bonus: Passion for aviation, drones, or related technologies Experience working on cross-disciplinary projects involving hardware and software Experience developing your own side projects with ideas you're passionate about Experience with real-time embedded platforms and bare metal systems Experience with safety critical systems The US base salary range for this internship position is the salary range below + benefits.
Wing's salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
