Maxar is currently seeking engineering, physics, math, or computer science students to join our 2024 summer intern program in Palo Alto or San Jose.
Quality Systems is a small team that helps to implement the Quality Management System, which helps to standardize, document, and audit the processes used to build space systems.
The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across the organization.
This is a requisition for summer of 2024 intern positions with involvement in the implementation of the Quality Management System for Maxar Space, which is involved in the design, integration, and test of space systems.
Life with Us Your Project: A Quality Systems Intern is needed for the following business process projects/program areas (projects will be adjusted based on intern’s skills and areas of interest, and Maxar need): Review the Quality Management Systems (QMS) dashboard and make suggestions on how to improve the dashboard (easier automation of dashboard development and updates, better accuracy of data, should other metrics be added, etc.
).
Evaluate Lessons Learned processes and make recommendations of how to improve the process through easier data collection and reports.
Make suggestions on how to maximize the use of an existing software package (Goldfire from IHS Markit) that makes searches of existed company information for Lessons Learned.
Put together an internal publicity campaign to increase the use of Goldfire.
Find more use cases for the Goldfire software.
Develop AS9100 training package for all employees to be trained on the Space Quality Management System Help perform internal audits to quality standards AS9100 and ISO 9001.
Help review and improve existing quality management system point of contact (POC) process to engage various groups across the company in making improvements.
Work with organization points of contact on addressing open internal and external audit findings.
Research documentation management approaches to see how to improve our business processes.
Improve internal SharePoint site for the QMS organization.
Improve the internal customer-facing SharePoint site for QMS / AS 9100/ISO 9001 Perform analysis of Failure Review Boards to look for opportunities to eliminate root causes of problems.
