The Senior Staff Instrument Software Engineer will develop, test and integrate software systems for operating cutting-edge life science instrumentation.
In this role, you will work as part of the software development team to develop new features, enhance existing ones, and support the platform development across multiple disciplines.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Develop, test, and integrate software for Cellanome internal and externally manufactured instrumentation.
Work closely and collaborate with other team members across R&D, manufacturing, computational biology and marketing departments.
Work within the software development and product development lifecycle through requirements development, design and implementation, peer review and testing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience
Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and deal with changing and evolving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python 3.
Experience with Pydantic, FastAPI, and similar frameworks is a bonus.
Experience in other languages (e.
g.
Java, C#, C++) is acceptable but an ability to learn and be productive in Python quickly is needed.
Ability to understand and interface with C/C++, Rust, and other languages as needed to interface internally and externally developed components and subsystems.
Experience with Typescript and React.
Familiarity with JIRA, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other DevOps applications.
Experience with Git for configuration management.
Experience with cloud technologies.
Experience with motion control and optical systems.
Software V&V experience for releases and product launches.
Life sciences and medical devices development experience including participating in risk management and review activities.
We provide competitive total compensation packages, including base pay, benefits, and equity.
In California, the estimated base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $210,000/year.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
