What to Expect
Tesla Energy is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to drive the next generation of Battery Management and charging Systems.
This role is key to all Energy storage and charging products of Tesla from residential to commercial and utility scale.
You will be working on high impact gigawatt-hour storage solutions as well as residential and commercial storage battery and charging systems.
Role will include significant ownership of Energy products software and firmware, ranging from algorithms, architecture, implementation, validation, and fleet improvements.
What You’ll Do
Develop, enhance and debug new and existing real-time software in C programming language using RTOS environments
Drive software development for performance, scalability, modularity and validation
Drive improvements and new algorithm development to enhance products performance and capabilities for estimation of capacity, Energy, and Power
Work cross functionally with HW design teams, manufacturing teams, architecture and modeling teams to help design state of the art products
Validate algorithms across various products in lab environments
Analyze fleet performance data to improve product experience
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical experience, or equivalent
Capable of delivering top quality C code in real time mission critical systems
Expert in software fundamentals including architectural design, algorithm development, data structures, code modularity, and maintainability
Ability to debug complex system level issues and drive solutions
Ability to take ownership of features impacting product performance
Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts

Expected Compensation
$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
