With a reach of more than a billion people every day, there’s no limit to the impact you can make here.
Are you ready to reimagine healthcare? Here, your career breakthroughs will change the future of health, in all the best ways.
And you’ll change, too.
You’ll be inspired, and you’ll inspire people across the world to change how they care for themselves and those they love.
Join us! Auris Health, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Sensor Systems R&D Intern, located Redwood City, CA.
At Johnson & Johnson MedTech, we're changing the trajectory of health for humanity, using robotics to enhance healthcare providers’ abilities and improve diagnoses, treatments, recovery times, and outcomes for patients.
Johnson & Johnson Robotics and Digital Solutions was established in 2020 with the integration of Auris Health, Verb Surgical, C-SATS, and Ethicon.
It comprises three key med-tech platforms: Flexible Robotics (MONARCH®), Surgical Robotics (OTTAVA™) and Digital Solutions.
Join our collaborative, rapidly growing team based in the Redwood City.
You'll collaborate on breakthrough medical technologies that unite multiple subject areas to build a connected digital ecosystem that advances medical professionals’ skills and improves patient outcomes.
In this role, the intern contributes to electromagnetic tracking sub-system evaluation, including performance metrics, design verification, and intended use validation, for sensors and sensor systems embedded in robotic endoscopy products.
Intern will be matched with one of several projects for a primary project and contribute as a team member on others, working cross-functionally with instruments & accessories design engineers, test engineers, reliability engineers, software engineers, system integration engineers, and clinical engineers.
Sampling of Projects Depending on the intern’s aptitudes, skills, and interests, the team will match the intern to at least a primary project of responsibility.
Examples of possible projects that may be available in the summer and the types of academic backgrounds best associated with them are as follows: Execute finishing features on a robotic testing system for sensor performance.
(ME and/or System Eng) Trace, isolate, investigate and solve external noise (EE and/or System Eng) Design, plan, configure, and execute a performance assessment of the automated testing facility (System or Test Eng) Design, plan, configure, and validate a sensor challenge environment (EE and/or ME) Derive high-level metrics from low-level data (Data Analytics) Enhance and expand automated testing capabilities through software extension (SW Eng and/or CS) Enable an additional axis of automated testing (System or Test Eng) Design and implement new automated test protocols (System or Test Eng) Design and prototype a production-line test tool (EE/ ME) Run a sensor sensitivity study through formal report (Test Eng) Develop and refine novel algorithms into practice (Math, Physics) Qualifications Currently enrolled in an Engineering or STEM Program (undergrad or graduate) graduating by June 2026.
