What is the Core Services team?
The Core Services Team manages the main infrastructure and API stack that powers https://www.
roblox.
com.
The team owns shared libraries, infrastructure micro-services, and the JavaScript frameworks used by all other Roblox full-stack feature teams.
We work together to ship daily with testable and configurable features that allow for rapid experimentation, data collection, and optimize for performance and user engagement.

Most of these services handle access to production databases to return user's related data to the rest of Roblox architecture.

API Scale - we run services that hit 500K - 3M RPS, the highest load of any Roblox full-stack engineering team.

You will:
Lead implementing features in our backend server and API stack that power https://www.
roblox.
com and mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Amazon platforms.
Build new micro-services in a collaborative modern development process.
Write code in a diverse ecosystem.
Build the Metaverse.
Report into the Core Services organization.
You have:
5+ Years of experience and are knowledgable with REST, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and micro-services.
Shipped multiple products / versions of products.
Interested in architecting and designing a wide-array of software products.
Experience building large distributed systems and scalability.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below.
The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand.
Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range.
This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
