This role is for a Software Engineer specializing in Observability Tools at Observe, a leading SaaS Observability product company.
The engineer will be responsible for developing and refining tools to collect comprehensive information on customer environments, diagnosing issues with agents, and automating configurations of clients based on data about customer infrastructure.
This involves working with open-source agents like Fluentbit, Telegraf, and Open Telemetry and deploying custom code as Kubernetes containers and lambdas in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
A strong emphasis is placed on creating solutions that make data integration in Observe swift, efficient, and hassle-free and contributing to the improvement and optimization of open-source agents.
The engineer will work in a dynamic, agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance and innovate Observe’s product offerings.
Example Responsibilties
Actively contribute to the OpenTelemetry codebase, addressing bugs and enhancing its functionality to better align with Observe's requirements and benefit the wider community.
Define and establish best practices in architecture, configuration, and instrumentation for integrating OpenTelemetry with Observe.
Collaborate with the product team to model trace data and seamlessly integrate it into the Observe platform.
Drive improvements in utilizing OpenTelemetry for capturing metrics and logs.
Contribute to Observe’s other integration projects, including those for public cloud providers and Kubernetes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of new features and integrations.
Stay updated with the latest developments in the OpenTelemetry community and ensure that Observe remains at the forefront of observability solutions.
