The research group of Dr.
Jade Benjamin-Chung (https://jadebc.
net/) in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health is seeking a Research Scientist.
Our group conducts research on the transmission and prevention of infectious diseases in order to improve health of vulnerable populations.
The Research Scientist will contribute to ongoing field studies and epidemiologic analyses related on malaria, enteric infections, and child health in Bangladesh, Peru, and Tanzania.
The work will have broad scientific and public health impact in infectious diseases.
The Research Scientist will work in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will be highly independent, organized, enthusiastic, and a motivated problem solver, who enjoys working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Duties include: • Coordinate research protocols and activities with international collaborators.
• Conduct literature searches and write literature summaries for proposals and manuscripts.
• Create and monitor data dashboards and reports on ongoing data collection.
• Conduct data processing and statistical analyses using epidemiologic and environmental datasets using R statistical software.
• Maintain version control of code repositories using Github.
• Coordinate scientific activities of international research projects in low-income country settings.
• Contribute to scientific manuscripts and grant applications.
• Manage study administration, including study and institutional research board protocols and data use agreements.
• Coordinate activities within the research lab (e.
g.
, organize lab meetings, maintain lab website, train incoming students).
• Assist with development, communication, and design of research findings to internal and external audiences, which may include presentations, website updates, and social media posts.
