Hi! My name is Jake Nochimow and I am the drum tech for some of the Bay Area’s top studios including 25th St Recording in Oakland.
I am available to travel to your studio, rehearsal space, or home by appointment all over the California Bay Area.
A drum-set that is properly fitted and set up for the drummer who will be playing it makes a world of a difference!
I’ve often noticed that drummers have difficulty getting their kits to sound and feel the way they’ve imagined.
A properly tuned and assembled drum set doesn’t only sound better, it’s easier to play! I can work with you to get the sounds you are looking for, whether they’re clean and precise or vibey and unconventional.
I have an extensive background in classical percussion, which requires the ability to tune timpani, concert bass and snare drums, etc.
On the flip side, sometimes a drum needs to have a lot of “character” and sounds best outside of the norm.
It really just depends on what you are up to.
My tuning will generally hold for a while.
However, individual playing style, age of drum-heads, and frequency of use are factors to think about.

I can help prepare part / drum-head orders before our time together, and can answer any questions you have about your drum-set after seeing pictures of your setup.
