Front Desk Receptionist, Medical Office
We are a fast-paced medical office looking for a smart, innovative, proactive, and people-oriented person to join our team as a receptionist and patient advocate.
The ideal candidate understands the importance of the front office role in protecting the health of others.
He or she is both detail-oriented and accountable, and understands that missed details of the job can cause physically or financially devastating outcomes for patients.
The individual must be self-motivated and a fast learner who wants to master the basic role quickly and potentially grow it into a wider role with more responsibility.
Previous experience in a doctor's office setting is preferred, but our practice will train the right candidate with a strong potential and right attitude, and dedication to staying long term.

This role is not for someone seeking a summer job as this is an opportunity to learn and grow with a growing practice.
Responsibilities:
* Patient check in/check out, appointment reminders, etc
* Electronic medical record maintenance (creation, modification, and updating)
* Insurance eligibility verification
* Office communication (answering phones, emails, faxes, texts, voicemails, etc)
* Coverage of other employees' roles, working in a team to get mission critical tasks completed
* Other: this role can and will grow to the strengths and goals of each individual
* Interface with surgical centers, be able to understand general requirements for scheduling patients and follow up on requirements
* Provide administrative support to doctors as needed
* Resolve patient and personnel issues tactfully and always with a smile
Minimum Qualifications:
* Hospitable.
A candidate must be patient, empathetic, and work well with others, in addition to being extremely likable.
This position is a people-facing position that involves teamwork.
Our office is a close team relying heavily on each other.
* Proficiency in English language (grammatically correct speaking, reading, and writing skills at a native speaker proficiency).
A core responsibility of the role is communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
Speaking multiple languages is a strong plus, but not required.
* Intermediate-level computing and typing skills.
Examples include: data entry, word processing, calendaring/scheduling, internet search, electronic fax, phone systems, and email.
Must have familiarity with using Windows operating systems.
A basic typing and computer test will be administered during the interview.
* Fast learner.

The candidate should be prepared and desire personal and professional growth, and be able to receive constructive criticism very well, with the end goal of delivering the best medical care humanly possible.
* Experience with working patients in a medical setting is preferred, however, it is not necessary for the right candidate.
If the candidate is motivated to learn, takes instruction well, and is very adaptable, he or she will do well, regardless of experience.
