Notre Dame Elementary School (NDE), a private Catholic school, is committed to developing and educating students in the traditions of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

*Requirements:*
● Current teaching credential and experience teaching in the middle school classroom
● Knowledge of subject matter (6-7 Pre-Algebra, curriculum is provided) and Religion
(curriculum is provided) and/or ability to learn (self-motivated)
● Familiar with Google Classroom is a plus; willingness to learn online submission tools and processes is a must
● Must be able to be collaborative and flexible; willing to be a team-player
● Teaching experience in the classroom at the elementary school level
● Ability to use and implement curriculum/ lesson plans provided, ability to plan assignments
● Must have excellent writing and communication skills
*Responsibilities:*
● Handle all homeroom-related tasks, from taking attendance daily to communicating with room parents
● Be fully prepared each day to conduct class to impact meaningful knowledge, skills and values to students
● Pre-planning the week/end prior for consumable and perishable materials
● Grading assignments in a timely manner, and providing appropriate student feedback through comments and SchoolSpeak
● Lead any planned field trip days with prior guidance from teacher and support from colleagues
_● _Share in the sponsorship of student activities and participate in faculty meetings
_● _Encourage students to think independently and express original ideas
● A love of students and sense of humor are required
*Qualifications*
● A Bachelor’s degree, or work in progress toward one is preferred
● Teaching experience with children
● Classroommanagement skills
● Exemplary professionalism, flexibility, empathy and care in collaboration with colleagues
● Demonstrated communication skills with parents, faculty, and students
● Ability to utilize technology in a classroom environment
● Commitment to excellence and rigor
● Respect for the mission of Catholic education and social justice
