"_ The Makerspace/STEM Teacher & Instructional Teaching Assistant at Notre Dame Elementary School will play a pivotal role in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning experiences for students in our K-8 program.
*Responsibilities:* * *Makerspace/STEM Teaching:* * Design and facilitate engaging STEM lessons and activities that align with curriculum standards and educational objectives.
* Manage the school's makerspace, ensuring it is well-equipped, organized, and safe for student use.
* Integrate technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics concepts into interdisciplinary projects and challenges.
* Foster a culture of inquiry, experimentation, and innovation among students through project-based learning and design thinking methodologies.
* *Instructional Teaching Assistance:* * Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons, providing one-on-one support, and facilitating small group activities.
* Support differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
* Supervise students during instructional periods, transitions, and recess/lunch breaks as needed.
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
* Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials, resources, and learning spaces.
*Qualifications:* * Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM-related field, or a related discipline preferred.
* Teaching certification/license (or eligibility for certification/license) in the relevant jurisdiction preferred.
* Experience in STEM education, makerspace management, or related fields required.
* Strong knowledge of pedagogical approaches to inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and design thinking.
* Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.
* Commitment to the mission and values of Notre Dame Elementary School.
* Previous experience as a teaching assistant or instructional support role is an asset.
