JOB SUMMARY
Crystal seeks a temporary, full-time exempt (1.
0 FTE, 10-month) Upper School English Teacher starting August 2024.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience, a general knowledge of curriculum instruction practices, some high school classroom teaching experience and advising experience and the ability to instruct students and apply effective classroom management.
The purpose of the US EnglishTeacher is to develop creative, reflective thinkers who express ideas confidently and elegantly in written and verbal expression.
Through the study of literature and practice of writing, students become thoughtful, close readers and critical thinkers.
Students learn to appreciate the artistic quality of literature, use literature to interpret the world around them, and engage with others empathetically.
The English Teacher will also: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual development through general education.
Enable students to maximize their competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Help build equity and inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
Lay the foundation for positive self-assessment and emotional intelligence amongst students.
Teach them a sense of responsibility as well as their academic curriculum.

Salary and Benefits This is a temporary exempt full-time (40 hours/week), 10-month Faculty position, and the annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $70,000 - $150,000.
