_*Organization Background and Description*_ Since 1994, Acknowledge Alliance has been focused on creating classrooms where students want to learn, and teachers want to teach.
As a mental health pioneer, we partner with educators and other caring adults in their school setting to support the social and emotional needs of youth as well as the adults, and the well-being of school communities.
Acknowledge Alliance serves K-12 schools in the San Francisco Bay Area, integrating resilience into all levels of learning by mentoring educators, counseling at-risk youth, and teaching social-emotional learning lessons for the whole classroom.
_*Position Summary and Job Purpose*_ This clinical placement is for a Post-Grad Associate AMFT, APCC, or ASW in our Resilience Consultation Program.
You will provide individual and group therapy, as well as support, collaborate with, and consult with families, teachers, and school personnel on-site at a K-8 school.
The Resilience Consultation Program takes a two-pronged approach to mental health in schools.
It places experienced mental health clinicians in schools to build the social and emotional capacity of teachers and administrators, as well as Counseling Associates to directly support students through on-site individual and group therapy.
_*Supervision and Training*_ The School Counselor will receive intensive and high-quality, BBS-approved weekly individual supervision from the clinical supervisors, who are licensed MFTs and LCSWs with experience in child and adolescent therapy, school-based counseling, and system work in schools.
Excellent training will be provided in a strengths-based approach to individual and group therapy, systemic work in a school setting, and working with both teachers/school staff and families as part of the therapeutic process.
_*Responsibilities:*_ * Facilitate individual and group therapy with clients * Coordinate and set up scheduling with teachers * Collaborate with parents/ guardians as part of the therapy process * Assist with crisis intervention and response as needed * Work collaboratively and professionally with teachers, school staff, and administrators * Complete all necessary clinical documentation in a timely manner * Manage other essential data collection and documentation as needed for the agency * Work as part of a team to provide the best possible treatment and support for clients * Work independently and as the sole Acknowledge Alliance staff person on site when the clinical supervisor is not on campus * Attend weekly group supervision and individual supervision * Act on behalf of Acknowledge Alliance in a professional manner _*Qualifications:*_ * Completed graduate program, including Law and Ethics and Child Abuse classes * Previous clinical and/ or direct experience working with children and/ or adolescents required * Prior school counseling experience * Previous group facilitation or teaching experience desired * Understanding of cultural implications in therapy and a willingness to openly explore issues around culture and diversity * Interest in working within a school setting and with children and groups, as well as collaborating with parents and school staff _*Requirements:*_ * Registered (or in process) as an associate with the BBS * Able to commit to one full school year (August-June) * Post-Grad Associate AMFT, APCC, or ASW _*Benefits:*_ * Child hours and supervised experience toward BBS licensure * Individual and group counseling experience with children and young teens, as well as possible family/parent collaboration within a school setting * A supportive and close-knit group of program staff that helps to foster an optimal learning community * Employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the employee benefits program that includes benefits for medical, dental, 401k, and paid time off (vacation, sick, and holidays).
