The Charging Contracts Specialist works on the North America Commercial Charging Operations team in headquarters.
Tesla is looking for a talented Contracts Specialist who will work with our Charging and Legal teams and support real estate and charging infrastructure matters.
This position is full-time and in-office in either our Palo Alto, CA or Austin, TX office.
What You’ll Do
Review, negotiate, and draft a variety of commercial contracts such as lease and license amendments and termination agreements, SNDAs, estoppels, property ownership changes, service agreements and letters
Assist with resolving disputes by investigating claims
Directly support business needs, develop relationships with Tesla’s internal business stakeholders, lead contract negotiations, drive cost savings initiatives, and work closely with Legal to expedite projects
Provide support on transactions and related matters that support the day-to-day operations of the company.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience with a variety of transactions and commercial contracts and be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and enjoy being continually challenged
Have excellent communication skills as this position involves direct contact with principal business owners
What You’ll Bring
3+ years of contracts management, negotiation, paralegal, or other comparable experience
Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree, experience and evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
Proven negotiation, drafting and analytical skills for various types of commercial contracts, with experience in real estate transactions preferred
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment
Sound and practical business judgment
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful and taking on additional responsibility
In-house legal experience or law degree
Background in technology and/or engineering
