What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a talented Paralegal to join our Legal team at our Palo Alto, CA or Austin, TX locations.
This role will directly support Tesla’s Consumer Litigation team.
The ideal candidate will have technical acumen, the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and duties, and solid experience with various types of litigation such as consumer demands, arbitrations, and complaints.
The position will report directly to the Associate Paralegal Manager, Consumer and Product Liability Litigation.
What You’ll Do
Support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation.
Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including talking with the relevant businesspartners, gathering and reviewing documents, and creating timelines.
Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, and setting up and maintaining document review platforms.
Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters.
Prepare court documents for filing.
Communicate with opposing parties and negotiate settlements.
Maintain the case file and litigation calendar and monitor case dockets.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of relevant experience handing litigation matters.
Consumer litigation background a plus.
Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
Understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedure.
Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage a high volume of matters, work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and oversee multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong work ethic with a goal-oriented focus as well as flexibility to take on new areas of responsibilities.

Expected Compensation
$72,000 - $198,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
