Over the last 10 years, StartX has supported the best AI entrepreneurs from Stanford AI labs, leading to the formation of companies such as Datasaur, Roam Analytics (acquired by Parexel), Lighthouse (acquired by Apple), AI Camp and Cytobank.
We are using the strength we’ve built over the past decade to develop resources for how to form and grow a company with AI.
The AI Project Manager will organize our resources and galvanize our AI community to help current and future AI start-ups.
The person in this will execute towards the vision and initiatives set by our AI Task Force, a collection of industry-leading AI start-up founders.
Key projects could include identifying aligned resources to meet founder needs, growing our AI mentorship community, and facilitating sessions with industry leaders.
Project management experience is critical for success in this role, and experience as a founder or start-up leader is preferred.
The AI Project Manager will leave a lasting legacy on StartX and the global innovation landscape as they drive the development of our AI vertical.
Responsibilities AI Start-Up Entrepreneurial Outcomes: In collaboration with the AI Task Force, build an understanding of the needs of entrepreneurs across the AI vertical through a combination of structured needs finding and data analysis Coordinate the StartX AI Task force meeting and facilitate collaboration process to identify the strategic direction and plan of StartX AI Design repeatable systems to regularly reevaluate and track key metrics Alongside the AI Task Force, build a robust and engaged community of AI founders Proactively source high achieving AI founders to apply to join the StartX community Empower our AI community members to be deeply involved in the creation and execution of our product offerings, creating the conditions for them to work harmoniously with StartX teams, complementing each other every step of the way Experience Design Organize weekly StartX AI Roundtable for founders to meet with fellow founders to discuss how AI will effect how they build their companies.
Here they will share their challenges and insights around AI and ask each other for help.
Based on key learning objectives set by the AI Task Force, identify and develop aligned resources, including educational events Proactively source a robust network of support for AI founders, including experienced mentors and partner resources Ensure qualified admissions judges are trained by the AI Task Force and ready to evaluate AI applicants Identify unmet learning goals in the AI vertical, then work with AI founders to find creative solutions to meet those learning goals in scalable, reusable ways Business Development Work with StartX’s Business Development team to engage the most important AI corporation leaders Develop relationships to create and nurture opportunities with executive stakeholders at new and existing partners Rapidly learn and internalize expertise across a broad range of industries, taking advantage of thought leaders who will be made available to you from throughout the Stanford entrepreneurship community Team-Wide Priorities Contribute to team-wide initiatives, bringing the AI focus to programming throughout the community Organize and market the StartX AI Resources and ensure the StartX community is aware of and has access You might be a fit if you have: Demonstrated success in project management Experience in the AI vertical, in start-up leadership, and/or in operations Experience building and leveraging strong communities and ecosystems The ability to analyze and draw conclusions from large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data Superior verbal and written communication skills Experience in a highly ambiguous and collaborative environment Experience building trust Passion for communicating value to senior stakeholders and figuring out creative ways to create success A day in the life Meet with AI start-up founders new to the start-up community to deeply understand their learning goals and help them identify aligned resources Review recommendations for AI mentors from the StartX community, setting up sourcing calls for strong candidates Partner with our Business Development team on planning for an upcoming summit between AI founders and Fortune 500 leaders Attend an event for prospective AI track applicants, sharing an overview of what admissions judges are looking for in AI applicants Role Metrics 35 tracked resources that address learning needs of AI founders Renewals for all Business Development partners in the AI space Increased contributions of AI founders and mentors to the AI community Increased number of applicants for each Admissions cycle We are deeply committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness.
