The Director, Clinical Analytics, is responsible for overseeing and managing program activities and staff assigned to clinical analytics, data warehousing, chart abstraction, clinical documentation, and quality systems management.
The Director leads the development and distribution of clinical quality, patient safety, and effectiveness clinical measures that differentiate Stanford Children's Health and results in the medical center achieving top performance status.
This position has oversight on data reporting to external agencies such as various data registries or external surveys participated by SCH.
The Director will establish the structure and processes necessary to provide clinical data and the appropriate analysis on which clinical care decisions can be made to improve SCH performance on quality and effectiveness metrics.
The Director coordinates a program where data is routinely validated for accuracy and analyzed for both trends and areas where improvement opportunities exist.
This position must establish excellent working relationships across the hospital and clinics and specifically with key physicians to help drive positive change and engagement in clinical practice improvements.
The Director will define and maintain a reporting management strategy that is non-duplicative, secure, and standards-driven and that anticipates institutional needs.

Develops the strategies necessary to achieve organizational goals related to clinical care through the use of data Directs the implementation of departmental Quality Systems throughout the organization.
Responsible for system, upgrades, reporting for various areas in the facility and for targeting new opportunities for usage of the system.
Ensures the collection and entry of accurate quality outcomes and process measures and maintains dashboard for the Board and Hospital Administration Establish effective working relationships across the organization to develop defined reports/applications, and to provide educational support to business staff around appropriate use of data for measuring clinical performance.
Evaluates the efficiency across the Clinical Analytics Division and organizes work to maximize output Facilitates the creation of analysis & reports that support the evaluation of clinical outcome measures using all available clinical and administrative databases Gathers and analyzes clinical and financial information from a variety of internal and external sources, relating to patient safety, utilization of resources, physician practice patterns, system problems and other quality functions.
Identifies trends, variances, deficiencies and problems utilizing aggregated data and information.
Organizes and facilitates the distribution of analysis & data for clinical effectiveness to departments, divisions, and task forces Responds to requests for information that support the achievement of strategic goals and objectives with primary responsibility for clinical data, this position will ensure data integrity and accuracy with chart abstraction and data entry Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Education: Master's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including one (1) year of supervisory responsibility License/Certification: None required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification.
