Principal Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Direct PJCC Treehouse afterschool day-to-day operations, including supervision of teachers, bus drivers and substitutes.
Work with Sr.
Director of Preschool, Youth & Family Engagement to guide the Treehouse program to meet the PJCC's commitment to provide a safe, fun and supportive afterschool experience, grounded in Jewish values, for school-age children.
Hire, direct, train, evaluate and coach Treehouse teaching staff with support from Sr.
Director of Preschool, Youth and Family Engagement; coordinate staff training with ECE and Camp Keff teams as appropriate.
Support teachers' professional development through in-classroom observations and regular feedback, along with regularly scheduled teacher meetings.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with local elementary schools' leadership.
Provide and facilitate ongoing training for Treehouse teachers in coordination with ECE department.
Oversee and manage program scheduling, including day-to-day adjustments as needed.
Manage staff payroll.
Ensure compliance with all childcare licensing requirements.
Work with Sr.
Director of Preschool, Youth and Family Engagement to support Treehouse parents and classroom teachers to address unique needs of each student, including developing strategies for behavioral and learning differences.
Oversee program registration and work with Marketing Department to help execute marketing campaigns for all Youth Programs.
Respond to parent inquiries as needed and provide weekly email communication to Treehouse families regarding program activities.
Collaborate across PJCC departments to design, implement and support after school enrichment programs for school-age children.
Design and facilitate events for family engagement.
Work with Camp Director to directly support the PJCC's Summer Camp program, Camp Keff, as needed, including with behavior management, staff development, special events and overnight programs.
Design and facilitate Camp Keff's Leader in Training program for rising 9th through 11th graders.
Oversee Camp Keff parent communications, including supervision of camp intern and management of the summer camp mobile app.
Assist with annual budgeting and manage monthly program expenses to stay within budget.
Hours:
Typical Schedule is Monday- Friday 9:30am-6:30pm during the school year and 8:30am-5:30pm during the summer.
Work hours may include weekends.
Hours are subject to change based upon the needs of the PJCC.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $73,000

The PJCC has been proudly providing after school enrichments and out of school time childcare for children in grades TK-5 for decades.
The Afterschool Director is a member of the Youth Department leadership team and is responsible for the smooth daily operations of the PJCC's afterschool programs for school aged children.
The Afterschool Director works collaboratively with youth, parents, volunteers, PJCC staff and other Jewish and civic agencies to provide, enhance and expand high-quality afterschool opportunities for youth at the PJCC, and directly manages the PJCC's licensed after school care program, Treehouse @ the J.
The Afterschool Director also plays an important role supporting the Camp Keff seasonal and summer programs.
