PAY RANGE $87,000 - $110,000 Annual Salary - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications POSITION OVERVIEW The Policy Manager is responsible for managing a variety of tasks and processes that serve MidPen’s Policy and Advocacy agenda and support the Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, Vice President of Housing Finance, President and CEO, and Development Department.
This is a hybrid position, based on current MidPen policy of working Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Foster City Office.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, option to work from home or the office.
When working from home, requires a reliable internet connection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assist coordination and facilitation of MidPen’s engagement in affordable housing and social services policy at all levels of government Contribute to MidPen internal Policy Working Group, including preparing materials and coordinating follow-up work conducted by a distributive team of MidPenners Represent MidPen Housing in local, regional, and state policy making hearings, working groups and commissions; communicate relevant information and/or distribute action minutes to key internal stakeholders Support MidPen Representatives working with network of affordable housing advocacy groups throughout Northern California Review research and study materials on affordable housing and social services.
Conduct technical analysis, including Geospacial, to help sharpen MidPen’s unified advocacy arguments in support of our work Act as a proxy and attend meetings on the VP of Housing Finance and Director of Policy’s behalf, prepare materials in advance and take appropriate follow-up actions Help the CEO, Sr.
VP of Equity and Inclusion, Director of Policy and MidPen continuously improve diversity and inclusion Ability to interpret complicated policy and regulatory guidelines and solutions into simple stories; act as a liaison with MidPen Communications Team Create materials needed for advocacy presentations and industry conferences Assists Development Department with Project-Level Support (as needed).
Provides ad hoc support to Project Managers and their teams with Development project management tasks QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
