About the Role: As the Senior Manager, Demand Planning at PacBio, you will be responsible for developing and executing our demand plan, working closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to drive accurate demand projections and inventory management.
Through effective execution in this role, you will help to optimize our S&OP process, reduce lead times, minimize excess inventory, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Your contributions will directly impact the success and growth of our business both near and long term.
Responsibilities: Coordinate cross functionally to ensure a complete and comprehensive demand plan, capturing key inputs including Sales and Finance forecasts, NPI assumptions, EOL, internal demand and marketing promotional activities Utilize Anaplan as a demand planning tool to create and maintain demand models, ensuring data accuracy and consistency Work with Operations and Product Marketing to maintain product segmentation and forecasted product disaggregation, enabling statistical models to drive SKU based and long-term forecasts Implement and lead key portions of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and establish routine cadences with stakeholders to review and update demand forecasts Facilitate regular demand plan reviews and executive reviews on monthly and quarterly cadences Develop and maintain key reports to track historical performance and forecasting accuracy, identifying areas for improvement and ways to further optimize our demand and build plans Monitor and analyze market trends, customer behavior, and industry developments to adjust demand forecasts and inventory strategies Work with Supply Chain on a long-term plan to integrate supply planning and purchasing activities more effectively with our demand planning activities Position Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related role; ideally within life sciences or biotech Proficiency in demand forecasting and inventory management software (e.
g.
, SAP, Oracle, Anaplan) Demonstrated expertise in implementing S&OP processes for improved supply chain efficiency Excellent data analysis and statistical modeling skills Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing projects Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the demand planning function Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred Strong knowledge of genomics, DNA sequencing, and related technologies is highly desirable Non-Field Based Employees are required to be onsite Monday-Thursday (Friday work from home).
Depending on the role, some employees may be required to be 100% onsite.
