87 Principal Objective Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Program Manager/Director, the Community Center Program lead will assist in running the Summer Swim School Program, Lifeguard Program, and Swim Team Summer session.
They will directly oversee the swim school, lifeguard, and YAF supervisor teams.
They are responsible for providing swim instruction, lifeguarding, and swim team expertise, wisdom, and best practices, ensuring all instructors, swimmers, and parents feel informed and comfortable in and around water and at the Community Center.
Principal Roles and Responsibilities Team Leader: Lead the Summer Aquatics Programs team by directly assisting in planning and executing trainings and certifications, providing weekly scheduling, assisting in hiring and supervising the team.
Engage, equip and empower your Direct Reports to become leaders who develop leaders through living into the Center’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Participate in weekly leadership meetings and plan weekly trainings as directed by the Aquatics Coordinator and/or Programs Director.
The Program Lead is the point person for the daily swim school, lifeguard, and swim team program needs.
Team Scheduler: Oversee schedules created by supervisors of each department.
Schedule weekly meetings with the supervisor team to check in and one on one meetings with direct reports as needed.
Work in partnership with the Adult swim workouts, PCCA Swim Team, Center Summer Camp, Swim School, Facilities Team, and other Center leaders to provide detailed assistance for members and to continue to build an excellent aquatics facility and program.
Assist the Aquatics Manager/Director as needed with scheduling and enrollments.
Help YAF supervisors with meet entries and management.
Oversee parent communication for both swim team and swim school.
Train and oversee all aquatics supervisors.
Complete evaluations in the middle and at the end of summer for all aquatics supervisors.
Student: Before starting job: complete necessary training for payroll, Red Cross Lifeguarding, Swim School Certification, Mindbody, and eselfserve.
Throughout summer attend and participate in all meetings and trainings; strive to learn and grow both personally and professionally.

Requirements and Qualifications Certifications: certified Red Cross Lifeguard (or equivalent), Swim School certified.
Experience: 18 years or older; strong swimming and/or water survival skills; lifeguard experience, 1 year of leadership on aquatics staff Schedule: Commit to working 8 out of the 10 weeks of summer and attend all training meetings throughout the summer.
Physical Requirements: This job requires a person to be in the water often and in the sun for the majority of the time spent working.
Personal protective equipment for sun exposure is mandatory (sunscreen, shoes, hats, sunglasses, etc).
Swim Instructors must be able to complete all rescue skills in the American Red Cross Lifeguard course at any point in time while working.
This includes but is not limited to diving up to 12 ft under water, treading water for long periods of time, performing CPR, rescue breaths, in water spinal backboarding, and the use of an AED.
Must be able to lift 30 pounds occasionally and 15-20 pounds often.
