Job Summary: This position is responsible for the new hire experience, ensuring new hires go through a standard orientation program as well as receive training to Company standards.
Position will partner with business unit operations and human resources management to understand business objectives and to manage, support, develop and execute the onboarding and training of front-line employees as well as provide standard front-line leadership training to all operational management in the business unit.
Manages and maintains employee training records, requirements, and reports.
Reports to Director, Business Unit Human Resources directly and to Sr Manager, Professional Development dotted/functional line.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Designs, delivers and administers select operations training initiatives for union-represented/front-line employees in the unit including but not limited to training and assessment of Leads who are responsible for conducting on-the-job training for front line employees Supports employee development and retention by delivering and managing established programs Coordinates and drives the periodic performance management processes Manages the area’s talent roundtable discussions, identifying appropriate succession plans and high potential employees Oversees the delivery of (and able to conduct as needed) new hire orientation training to new hires Manages Specialists who support new hires Maintains the unit’s training calendar and curriculum, coordinating course logistics and enrollment Assess and analyzes training needs though surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers, instructors and others Develops and deliver training specific to unit needs as necessary.
Monitors 0 – 90-day retention and develop needs for training and report out to unit leadership for implementation.
Uses mobile data collector(s) to conduct new hire evaluation reporting.
Monitors, analyze, and evaluate training activities and program effectiveness.
Tracks training completion and maintains employee information in the online learning management system (LMS) Develops and circulates detailed reports to management regarding compliance and training progress and effectiveness Acts as point of contact to employees regarding training inquiries or concerns Ensure exit interviews are completed using company standard tools Reports results of exit interviews to Director, Human Resources, Business Unit and Business Unit Leader Develops and implements action plans to continuously improve employee engagement and retention Delivers professional curriculum to improve effectiveness of management Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university is preferred Work Experience: 1 to 4 years of training experience in a retail, management, food hospitality, catering, or training environment or equivalent work experience in operations management or a related field Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration) Position requires experience and skills in: Facilitating Business partnering Relationship building Analysis Time management Prioritizing multiple projects/tasks Adult learning concepts Leading participant-centered workshops Must be able to use creative techniques to explain ideas and concepts to a multicultural learner Flexibility in working a variety of shifts and days off Action oriented, highly organized problem solver with demonstrated success in addressing challenges and working collaboratively Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with a learning management system (LMS), computer and/or web-based training delivery and a lean manufacturing environment, preferred Experience and skills in dealing with multicultural learners, highly desired Multi-lingual skills, desirable Language / Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; must also be good listener Job Dimensions Geographic Responsibility: Unit Type of Employment: Full-time Travel %: Negligible travel may be required Exemption Classification: Exempt Internal Relationships: Employees at all levels of the organization External Relationships: Candidates Work Environment / Requirements of the Job: Must be able to stand over 50% of the time.
